Kshudiram memorial Diabetic Compass TRUST

Kshudiram memorial Diabetic Compass TRUST, a non for profit organization was founded in 2022 by an enthusiastic Dr Dilip Kumar Kandar who specializes in treatment and management of Diabetes and allied complications with a holistic approach. Prior to establishment of the trust Dr.Dilip Kumar Kandar who has 20+ years of experience in Diabetes management, felt the need to create awareness on diabetes among the public, healthcare professionals and diabetic patients, and started various social service activities since 2003 in and around Hyderabad in association with Walkers international Club, Sri Balaji Diabetes foot care centre, KIMS Diabetes centre etc. The medical services included free health check ups, creating awareness, education, guidance, monitoring and medical assistance (free insulin and drugs) for poor families to gain confidence in managing diabetes at home and at school for children with Type I Diabetes.
It was humble beginning way back in 2003, towards social services especially to de-stigmatize and raise awareness about Diabetes especially in slums, schools and parks of Hyderabad, which later spread to peripheral locations like Nalgonda, Huzurnagar, and Miryalaguda. Free Diabetes clinics were set up in these areas which were run once in a month. Occasional health advocacy camps were also organized to underprivileged societies like Chenchu tribes of Srisailam, tribes of Adilabad etc, who were deprived of basic health facilities. Health camps in these areas helped increase diabetes awareness among many rural communities on management and prevention of diabetes complications.
Touched by the responses from the monthly rural diabetes camps, Dr. Dilip Kumar extended his free services to Nirmal and Adilabad districts of Telangana since 2007. Later the activities were extended to the underprivileged communities at Midnapore, West Bengal in association with different NGO like Lions Club of Kongsabati, Midnapore, Sri Aurobindo Charitable Trust – Binoda, Nora Memorial Diabetic clinic, Rural Medical practitioner Welfare and Health Awareness Association. Periodic Diabetes screening camps and treatment logistics (free insulin, and insulin devices to Type 1diabetes, free glucometers to GDM, tuition or semester fees for under privileged Type 1 diabetes) were provided free of cost under the banner of Kandar Diabetes Centre in all the above places.
Dr. Dilip Kumar Kandar was a visionary who foresaw the impending diabetes epidemic spreading among the rural communities with poor financial conditions, understood the complexities of diabetes management and urged all the existing supporters and well wishers on to a common platform where people can donate and can reach more people. With a motto “Service to mankind is service to God”, Dr. Dilip Kumar Kandar along with few others established “Kshudiram Memorial Diabetic Compass TRUST” (KMDC Trust), an independent non for profit organization to carry forward the already ongoing services along with new initiatives to cater to the needs of a larger community.
The KMDC Trust is currently operational under the stewardship of Dr. Dilip Kumar Kandar, along with Monalisa Bhadury and Aparna Kuna, who aim to create awareness on diabetes and its associated disorders through free medical camps, distribution of diabetes related treatment logistics, educate the patients and their families towards positive attitudes and behavior to manage the “highs” and “lows” of their diabetic life.
